We have been busy sponsoring a small team from Hamble Sea Scouts who took part in the Great River Race on Saturday 9th September this year. Just in case you don't know - "The Great River Race is London's River Marathon. A spectacular boat race up the River Thames, it attracts over 330 crews from all over the globe."

They rowed through some very interesting weather that day - they had a beautiful sunny start and then were hit with rain, hail, thunder and lightening, but they rowed bravely through it all. The team we sponsored were called Team Mercury, rowed 21 miles and finished in 2nd place. So overall, Hamble Sea Scouts won 1st and 2nd place in their categories and between them all, they won 3 cups and a trophy between the 3 teams - what a great achievement! Congratulations to everyone who took part.

We're on YouTube!!

Well since coming back from a very hectic August sailing with clients (well, you have to pay the bills!!). It's good to see the site still here and in good shape with sales and new members. But the big news was being contacted by MyClassicBoat to do a YouTube clip about a 99p classic Falmouth work boat that we put on the site for a friend.

To be honest, I was not even sure we could sell a boat like this 1. because we have not had that many boats on our site 2. there was a small time frame that the owner had to pass the boat on without getting more costs from the yard and 3. the boat was not in the greatest of condition!

Well we did it! We sold the boat, for 99p and you get to see my mug on your screens! Keep an eye out for a follow up on the 99p boat on the MyClassicBoat YouTube channel

Hot sales and international new members!

We've had a higher than average amount of sales this last month (July) and again marine electronics seem to be the main purchases, going to a high majority of international members. We would like to welcome all those New Members to the site that joined last month, which include people from the UK, USA, SLOVENIA and HOLLAND to name but a few.

So get listing and join our growing international market!!

Also please remember we are happy to receive thoughts and feedback, so please contact us and we will do what we can to help and improve our service to you!

Have a great SUMMER SAILING!

Site round up!

Well it's been ticking over nicely with sales and new menbers, on the sales side we have seen some large items go out such as a Max Power Fuel Cell and some smaller stuff such as a ST60 display and even a winch handle pocket. All these items have been bought by new menbers and they are not all from the UK, the ST60 went to the Netherlands! We also welcomed new members from Greece and the USA. We are truly an international market place!!

We are also always on the lookout for new products that are coming onto the sailing market and just recently we were lucky to be able to talk to the creators of a new personal crew safety device that comes with a smart phone app that really struck a cord with me. Growing up I started my career doing deliveries with just me and my Dad and even now I am still doing trips for exclusive clients and most of the time there is only one person on watch. As I am the one in charge nowadays it has kept me awake at night on trips, especially when I have someone new to me on watch, its every skippers worst nightmare, to lose someone!! SO have a look at Crew Watcher Pan Pan and get behind this project to see it come to life. Kick starter project to come from these guys soom!!

And maybe we will see Crew Watcher on this site soon............Keep an eye out!

We are Expanding!

As of next week, due to demand JustBoatStuf will be able to help marine companies with listing and storing their old or end of line stock that they need to get rid of. So keep your eye on the site if you are a buyer! To kick this off we will only be helping companies in the Southampton, UK area but with the plan to roll this out in the future to other areas - small steps!

Companies (based in and around Southampton UK) - If you have gear you need to get out from under your feet contact us here info@justboatstuf.com. Listing charges for this service will be 25% of the final value fee plus any site fees that apply (5% max). IF WE DON'T SELL YOU DON'T PAY. Even though we are using a very secure storge facility we cannot take any responsibliity for items stored with us. You can have your items back at any time but we ask for a minimum time with us of three months to give us a chance to sell.

Sellers - Fancy doing this yourself? We will be having "Official JBS Sellers" and if you want to join the fun and you have contacts in the industry then we could help you set up under our banner. So get in touch and let's work together!

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to those companies who have already signed up with us so far!

- As we progress with the site, we are trying to keep you informed with our progress and we would be happy to hear from you too! Send in your emails to us at info@justboatstuf.com and we will post them here. If you have any questions or need advice about a particular subject to do with the water or the site -  we will do our best to answer them - and if we can't, maybe someone else reading can. We really want to make this a community and not just a site that sells stuff!

We are a year and a half in and we are meeting our growth targets of doubling in size each year and there are projects on the go with companies like SOAK RACING and enduRings coming to the site soon (the SOAK Halyard Clip has just gone back on the site!). If you would like to support our nominated charity, WetWheels - you can do this by buying days out for people on their boat through the site, whether you know them or not. Give someone the opportunity to get out on the water who would not have had this opportunity otherwise! Buy here
